A few photos from a walk round this morning. Best was an area with at least 60 flowering spikes of Bee Orchid. The Dog Roses are putting on a good show. I'm pretty sure the dragonfly is a female Emperor, ovipositing at the dipping pond.

Cosmeston this morning. Pretty quiet bird wise. The Coot was interesting - the ads were with the young on the dipping pond the other day, then this morning they had built a new nest which they and the chicks are using. This is definitely a new nest and not the one the hatched in. O/W Common Blue, Common Spotted Orchid, Twayblade [first one I've seen there], and a grab shot of a Buzzard flying over by the cafe, with my bridge camera.

The Yellow Flag Irises [Iris pseudacorus] are out now and looking good. Only bird highlights were 3 Grey Heron and a pair of displaying GC Grebes on W lake and a Jay by the E lake boardwalk.
