Cosmeston

only new birds his a.am were 3 lonely Redwing in the middle of the car park. The Scaup type drake on W lake is definitely the hybrid found earlier this year.

Cosmeston

in addition to the usual suspects [80 Pochard, 300 or so Tufties], there was what seemed to be a drake Greater Scaup [W lake], although there was something odd about it - bit of a bump on the back of the head, darkish shading on the back over the grey/black barring. Defo not a Lesser [bit bigger than the Tufty it was loafing with] - I left with Matt Meehan and Alex going to check it out. Also pair o GCG displaying on W lake.
Black Swan also still present E lake.

Cosmeston

First visits since returning from our sojourn in the warmer climes of Myanmar [Burma]! Yesterday [and a couple of days prev apparently] a drake Wigeon was on W Lake. Today on W lake, 80 Pochard and 250 Tufties. No sign of any Scaup or other wildfowl [apart from the usual Mallard, Canadas & Mute Swans], surprisingly given the weather.
Also 80 LBB GUlls and 10 Herring Gulls.
Nothing on E lake due to fire service practicing water rescues. This cold is a bit of a shock to the system!
