Lavernock Point

A very autumnal walk around the point and fields. There was a small passage of hirundines: House Martins (c80) & Swallow (c100). Good numbers of finches, Linnet (280, mostly in the top fields), Chaffinch (100), Goldfinch (60), Greenfinch (45), Redpoll (2) & Siskin (2). Meadow Pipit (25), Goldcrest (4), Chiffchaff (4) and a male Sparrowhawk. The highlight however was a Woodcock flying towards the point from the top fields (past the black silage bags). The last one there, according to the archive, was 1978.
Red Admiral & Speckled Wood of note.

Nice one Jake. Don't often get Woodcock around here. Last one I saw was at Cosmeston some years ago.
